Shape Your Arms In Front of The Tube

If you’re finding yourself watching more television while cooped up in your home, use that time to get some exercise. Here are some arm exercises you can do as you binge watch episodes of your favorite program (click on the exercise for a link to video). All you need is an exercise band (I prefer a medium-weight Theraband). Do three sets of 12-20 repetitions each.

  • Front Raises - Put band under your feet (seated or standing) and lift straight arms up to shoulder height, in front of your body.

  • Lateral Raises – Holding onto the band under your feet, raise straight arms up to shoulder height at your sides.

  • Overhead Press – Standing on the band, hold on to it and press your arms up overhead.

  • Tricep Kickback – Stand on the band and hold on to it with your arms by your side. Bend over slightly with a flat back, and while keeping your elbows close to your ribcage, pull the band back behind you so you feel the work in the back of your arms.

  • Row – Same body position as the Tricep Kickback, but pull your elbows behind your body to feel the work in your upper back.

  • Pull Apart – hold the band in front of your body with your hands shoulder-width apart and palms facing the floor. Pull the band apart with straight arms so your hands are to your sides (at shoulder height), and rotate your palms up.

  • Chest Fly – Wrap the band around the backside of your body and hold on to it with tension. With slightly bent arms, pull the band in front of you like you’re hugging a tree, feeling the work in your chest.
